Bukovel Ski Resort

Bukovel ski resort is a new large ski resort in Ivano-Frankovsk district, 30 km to the west of Yaremcha village. It is located at the feet of the Bukovel mountain in the village Polanytsya, Yaremcha region, 900 m above the sea level. Beautiful views, crystal clear air, rich historical background, unique culture attract tourist to the Carpathians. These mountains are beautiful in winter and in summer.

Bukovel is Ukraine's first European-class resort, with a couple high-speed chair lifts, well-treated slopes and snowmaking machines, turnstiles for letting skiers through lines, and effective security personnel. It's unusual to see this degree of organization in Ukraine. Bukovel resort has been carefully planned to make skiing enjoyable and convenient and to avoid lift lines and congestion. Lift lines longer than five minutes are rare.

Bukovel is located 900 m above sea level, and the highest ski lift rises to 1370 m, making Bukovel the second highest ski resort in Ukraine after Dragobrat. All categories of difficulty are available. There is a very long flat hill that is perfect for beginners, a couple short ones for children, all levels of intermediate runs, and several black traces. Night skiing is available from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., but now only on one slope that is upper intermediate

Ski Schools

Ukrainian-Polish Ski School holds specialized schooling for mountain skiers. The studying program of our school is flexible and depends of a group you join and also on landscape and snow cover conditions. Our course is designed as for the beginners as for the persons who already have reasonable experience, and who are mainly interested in sportive style of skiing.
The workouts are carried out by experienced instructors-teachers, who have a professional approach with general methodic of teaching, which corresponds to international standards.

• The learning program (4 hours per day) includes:

• Modern exercises demonstrated by instructor and learned by students;
• Analysis and correction of students' mistakes;
• Perfection of main moves of skiing sport;
• Carving learning (carved parallel turn);
• Free-ride learning;
• Short carved turns learning (used to go down especially very steep and narrow slopes)

  Also:

• Elements of sportive skiing (going through slalom routs, slalom-giant, carving slalom;
• Time training (tries with time fixed) the time is measured by Microgate system;
• Conduction of internal competition (slalom-giant) among the school students;
• Fun carving;
• Photo and video made of each student in the beginning and at the end of the day;
• Evening video and photo analysis with the discussion of faults and accomplishments;
• Methodical movies demonstration.

  The lessons are hold in a group of 8-10 persons. Before the school starts, instructor filters participants by their skiing skills. Throughout the course it is possible for every participant to shift either to lower or to upper group. The age of participants is not restricted. Kids can also participate.

How to get to Bukovel.
The biggest closest airports and railway stations are Ivano-Frankovsk (120 km), Lvov and Chernovtsi (170 km).Right from the stations there are plenty of uses and taxies and minibuses regularly going to Yaremcha village.

Bukovel Hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Bukovel's main ski lifts. The hotels provide effective security, including parking guards and emergency detectors everywhere and perfect lighting at nights. The complex has a fitness center, sauna, swimming pool, tanning tube, billiards, and playgrounds for children. All rooms have modern furniture, bathroom with shower, cable TV, phone, and room bar.
